Summer in Townsend
Townsend is a wonderful place to visit during the summer months, particularly for families. Tubing down a cool mountain river is exhilirating, bicycling through Cades Code is a great experience for all ages, and picnicking in the Cove is one of the most relaxing times one can expect.
In the summer it's easy to spot deer, fawns, and black bears. The end of August is a particularly exciting time to watch for animals. The wild cherries start to ripen and the animals are out and about searching for the area's natural dessert.
